With the receipt of 105.508 crossword puzzles from clients and shopkeepers in the country, phase one of Los Sabelotodos Cerveceros ended; a contest launched at the end of May, which will provide prizes for more than $180 million.
The activity, targeted to the nearly 380.000 shopkeepers nation-wide who sell Bavaria products, seeks to promote interest towards beer and the brands of the Company, mainly through the Don Próspero magazine, a commercial publication of the brewery, which included a centre-page crossword puzzle, the answers of which were embodied in the articles of the magazine and in the Web page www.sabelotodoscerveceros.com. After a process implemented to verify the crossword puzzles duly completed, the contest organization made a raffle to randomly select the names of the 70.000 shopkeepers who made their way to the second phase.
Since last July 14, the shopkeepers selected received from a Company officer a multiple-choice test that they must complete within eight days, and such test will be picked up once such period elapses. All tests will be collected for the contest by July 31. In the event of a tie, it will be resolved, taking into account the proportionate direct sales increase of June and July, compared with the April – May 2009 period.
Once final results are published, which will be notified to shopkeepers through a letter, the top 5.000 will receive a diploma that will certify them as “Sabelotodos Cerveceros”, whereas the top 500 will be eligible to be classified as Tapa Dorada clients.
The top 50 scores of the multiple-choice test will be invited to the finals that will take place in Bogotá, on August 30, within the framework of the National Day of the Shopkeeper, where more than $180 million worth in prizes will be given. The Gran Sabelotodo Cervecero will receive a $50 million pesos prize. |
