With the attendance of 107 sports delegations of Ponyfútbol, Ponyvoleibol, Ponybaloncesto, Babyfútbol and Babybéisbol, representatives from the main authorities of Antioquia and Bavaria executives, as well as more than 1,600 spectators, the 2010 Pony Festival begun on Saturday, January 9th at the Marte 1 court in Medellín.

At 1:30 p.m., players left full of joy, pride and energy, to the sound of the martial band Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá, establishing a deployment of colour around the court, decorated with the image of Pony Malta. It really was “an integration of cultures, with representation of nearly all provincial departments and with the presence of Ecuador and the United States”, in words of Diego León Osorio, President of Corporación Deportiva Los Paisitas.

With the refreshing and nutritious energy of Pony Malta, the Ponyfútbol season began with the match between Barrio La Palma vs. San Andrés Isla, where the first one was the winner with 2 – 0. Before starting, the captain of the winning team had expressed the state of mind shared by all delegations: “Being here in Ponyfútbol makes you feel something deep in your heart, due to the huge emotion. We are very grateful to Pony Malta, because it is thanks to it that we can be here in this excellent tournament, where we hope to do a great job”, affirmed Santiago González Mora.

The following day, Sunday, January 10th, Ponyvoleibol and Ponybaloncesto began their season, which ends on January 2st in the sports scenarios of Sabaneta and Itagüí, respectively.
