The children of the Olivares neighborhood, the community bordering the Cervecería Unión plant in Itagui, Antioquia, were the first to inaugurate the 'Park of your Dreams' on the 29th of January, 2010.

Through the Uni2 internal corporate program, Bavaria employees and Bavaria companies throughout the country donate a percentage of their salary to finance social investment works. Bavaria is delighted to be able to support and bring joy to the children of the 31 communities located in the areas surrounding the production Plants in Bogotá, Tocancipá, Tibitó, Boyacá, Bucaramanga, Valle, Barranquilla, Cartagena and Medellin.
Thanks to the ‘Park of your Dreams’ donations, more than 10,000 children in the country now have a perfect space to promote and foster the formation of positive values, including tolerance and solidarity. This work is aimed at improving the quality of life in areas that may be impacted by the Company, as well as the healthy development of the children and youth of Colombia.
At this moment 20% of the planned parks have been opened; and the rest are either being built or assembled by the selected communities. Those who have had the opportunity to enjoy these new spaces are full of enthusiasm for the program. “More than 600 children live here and they have never had anywhere where they can play. They are now queuing up to enter and enjoy this marvelous park. It is difficult to describe the happiness that this brings us, and the community as a whole. This is without a doubt the best present in the world”, expressed Danilo Cortés, head of the Local Action Committee for the Olivares neighborhood, in Antioquia. |
